Advantages Doing Segmentation

There are several advantages in segmenting the business:

More clearly. Segmentation enables us to see more clearly the market that will be targeted. We can further understand our customers, and what is the consumers motives to purchase our products.

More effective. After finding out what the customer needs, we can execute marketing programs that fit the needs of the consumer. Thus the marketing program will be able to operate effectively.

More efficient. Segmentation makes the allocation of our resources become efficient. For example, the promotion can avoid a waste because well targeted campaign.

More competitive. Through segmentation we can posses our brand in a particular segment of the groups in which our brand has more competence than other brands.

In order segmentation process can work well, it needs a commitment from management to make the necessary policies. It is certain that in order to exploit the opportunities that are still untapped market need all the resources of the company. Often this requires the company to move in different directions or even toward a goal that is different from predefined. Thus, before doing the segmentation, all efforts will not produce maximum results.
